The worlds most famous spring balanced device is the Anglepoise desk lamp, designed by George Carwardine at the beginning of the 20th century, since a while featuring as the trademark of Pixar.

Spring balancing technology is also found in more technical devices, balancing tools, camera's or chalkboards, and in the medical industry. The common drawback of these devices is they are not (or not easily) adjustable: they are designed to balance an object with a more or less fixed weight.

NHLO invented its patented Phantomspring technology. It enables us to exclusively design devices balancing objects with various weights. The adjustment of the device can be done very quickly, and requires very little to no energy. We do so by controlling the effectively used spring energy at any given moment.

Phantomspring technology discloses a wide range of applications for spring balanced devices. Currently we're engaged in exploring its feasibility in following markets:

- pick and place operations

- offshore motion compensation

- building and construction aides

Phantomspring technology counterbalances objects of various weights instantaneously, making them seemingly weightless.
